Hiking stick/poles (i.e. Nordic walking equipment) are not permitted through the security checkpoint. The only exception to this is if the hiking stick/pole is being used as a mobility aid (i.e. in place of a cane). A Screening Officer will inspect the stick as part of the screening process. If you are not able to walk through the metal detector unassisted, the Screening Officer will offer you a courtesy non-metallic cane (for temporary use for this purpose only).
