  • Seattle - London & Amsterdam - Vancouver (or Victoria): $159 CAD roundtrip including taxes

    London, UK and Amsterdam, Netherlands

WestJet is showing some ridiculously cheap open jaw flights involving Seattle, London, Amsterdam, and Vancouver.

You can fly from Seattle to London, UK and then from Amsterdam, Netherlands to Vancouver (or Victoria) for $159 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

Of course there are a few caveats here:

    1. You need to find your way to Seattle, one way.

According to BusBud.com public transport options range from $42-$68 CAD. Amtrak service from Vancouver to Seattle restarted on September 27th.

    2. A flight between London and Amsterdam is not included. A typical flight costs $75-$100 CAD between LHR and AMS. Or slightly cheaper from LGW ($50-$75 CAD).

How to find and book this deal

    Step 1

Go to FlightHub or the WestJet website.

Step 2 - Search for a Multi-City flight like this one:

Leg #1: Seattle (SEA) to London (LON)
Leg #2: Amsterdam (AMS) to Vancouver (YVR)

For Leg #2, Amsterdam (AMS) to Victoria (YYJ) or Nanaimo (YCD) also works.

For Leg #1 use one of the following dates

    Nov 8, 22, 25, 26, 30
    Dec 2, 3, 5, 6
    Jan 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30

    -- previously available dates --

    Nov 7, 16, 17, 20, 29
    Dec 1, 8, 9
    Jan 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 27, 28, 31
    Feb 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

For Leg #2 use one of the following dates

    Nov 17, 19, 22, 24
    Dec 6
    Jan 14, 17, 19, 21, 24, 26, 31
    Feb 2, 4, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 28
    Mar 2, 7, 9, 11, 14, 16

    -- previously available dates --

    Nov 26, 29
    Dec 3, 8
    Jan 28

NOTE: If you see an overnight layover in Calgary for one of the legs try adjusting the date by one day (forward or backward) and search again. You can definitely find flights without overnight layovers in both directions.

Common Question: If we don't want to take the Seattle flight, can we just skip it and fly from Calgary to London?

Unfortunately not, airlines usually cancel the remainder of a ticket once a leg is intentionally missed. This article attempts to explain why they do that.
