Ontario Premier Doug Ford says a new highway linking the 400 to the 404 through the Bradford area will not be tolled, but his government still will not provide any details on how much it will cost or how long it will take to construct.

        Toronto, Canada  (August 15, 2019) – A company controlled by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) has acquired a 10.01% equity stake of 407 International Inc. (407 International), which holds a concession over the 407 Express Toll Route (407 ETR), from SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. (SNC-Lavalin). Under the terms of the agreement, CPPIB agreed to pay $3.0 billion to SNC-Lavalin on closing, with an additional $250 million set to be paid over 10 years, conditional on achieving certain financial targets related to the performance of the toll highway.

      The leader of the Green Party, Mike Schreiner, said the highway will contribute to pollution and called on Ford to cancel his plan.

      “The [corridor] would pump, according to reports, 87-million kilograms of climate pollution into the air each year. It would negatively impact 17 hectares of the Holland Marsh, 39 hectares of wildlife habitat, 11 hectares of provincially significant wetlands and cut through 27 waterways,” he explained.

        • Newmarket 附近的流量可以用这条线,Richmond Hill的绝对不会绕几十公里往北走,楼下说货车,事实上北面货车更少,即使Perterobrough 往西,也需要把7A先打通

      • 城内高速如401高峰拥堵的一个原因是货车。本来城外围应该有一条高速让货车不用进城,象407,可惜被败家仔给卖了。 +1
